We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Consulting Charge Entry Specialist to join our team in the fast-paced medical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing all aspects of charge entry processes. This includes the review, interpretation, and entry of service charges into the billing system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. As a Consulting Charge Entry Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and success of our organization. This is a unique opportunity for a professional with a strong background in charge entry to use their skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all aspects of the charge entry process, including reviewing, interpreting, and entering service charges into the billing system.
- Ensure all charges are entered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any charge entry issues or discrepancies.
- Review patient medical records to verify the accuracy of coding and billing data.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and billing regulations.
- Participate in regular audits to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Provide training and guidance to other staff members on charge entry procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve charge entry processes and increase efficiency.
- Monitor and report on charge entry performance metrics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Charge Entry Specialist or in a similar role within the medical industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in medical billing and coding, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
- Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) or similar certification is a plus.
