If so, this exciting opportunity as a Permanent Criminal Defense Paralegal could be the perfect fit for you. We are a highly reputable law firm specializing in criminal defense, and we are seeking a dedicated, experienced Paralegal to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our attorneys in the preparation and management of a variety of criminal defense cases. This position will be critical in ensuring our clients receive the best possible defense and representation.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Criminal Defense Paralegal, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Assisting in the preparation of legal documents such as motions, briefs, exhibits, and appeals.
- Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information for case preparation.
- Coordinating with clients to gather and organize necessary documentation and information.
- Managing and organizing case files, tracking case status and updating client records.
- Assisting attorneys in court proceedings, including trial preparation and strategy development.
- Coordinating and communicating with court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case.
- Managing client communication, providing updates on case status, and addressing any concerns or queries.
- Assisting with asylum cases, including document preparation and case management.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in criminal defense.
- A degree or certificate in paralegal studies from an accredited institution.
- Experience with asylum cases and case status management is highly desirable.
- Exceptional research skills and proficiency in legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- A strong sense of professional ethics and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
