We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Accounting Manager to join our thriving engineering firm. This is a permanent position offering an exceptional opportunity to work with a team of professionals passionate about their work in the engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of our accounting functions including but not limited to auditing, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, month-end close, accruals, and general ledger maintenance. An essential part of this role requires proficiency in Avante ERP system.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Manage the preparation of all financial statements, invoices, proposals, etc. as required.
• Monitor the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Oversee the auditing process, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all transactions.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and implement robust financial systems and processes.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
• Develop strategies to optimize accounting procedures without compromising accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors and manage internal controls.
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
• Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
• Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or Engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
• Proven experience in managing a comprehensive financial department.
• Proficient in auditing, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, month-end close, accruals, and general ledger.
• Experience with Avante ERP system preferred.
• Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
