Job DetailsWe are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented AR Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Receivable, with a proven ability to reconcile ledgers, prepare monthly entries, and use Vlookup for reconciliations. This is a permanent position that will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Experience with Great Plains software is a must.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of Accounts Receivable, including billing, collections, customer service, and reporting activities.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to AR, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of AR related accounts in the General Ledger.
- Use Vlookup to manage large volumes of data, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve any billing disputes or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files, including contact information, payment terms, and credit limits.
- Provide support during audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation related to AR.
- Use Great Plains software for various AR activities, including invoicing, reporting, and data analysis.
- Continuously improve AR processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date with accounting best practices, trends, and regulations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an AR role, preferably in a medium to large organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with functions such as Vlookup.
- Experience with Great Plains software is required.
- Strong knowledge of AR processes, including billing, collections, and customer service.
- Ability to prepare and post monthly journal entries and perform reconciliations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certification, such as Certified Accounts Receivable Specialist (CARS), is a plus.
