A Bit About UsGeneral Summary
The Assistant Operations Controller supports the operating divisions in planning, controlling, and continuously evaluating business performance. This role involves analyzing and interpreting financial reports and monitoring operational aspects to ensure alignment with company policies and objectives.
Assistant Operations Controllers must possess strong financial skills and a deep understanding of business operations. They actively participate in monthly meetings, assist team members in achieving strategic and financial goals, highlight variances, and lead gap planning efforts to meet budget objectives.

- Maintain accurate financial and operational standards.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the annual standard cost update process in collaboration with the VP of Operations.
- Oversee the divisional month-end close process, including account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and timely adjustments.
- Review marginal income trends at sale, project start, and completion to ensure profitability targets are met.
- Lead the completion of annual revenue, expense, and capital budgets, and quarterly forecast updates.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, CPA and/or MBA preferred or in progress.
- 5-8 years of corporate accounting experience.
- Strong Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables) and familiarity with accounting systems (Solomon a plus).
- High energy, inquisitive, and a lifelong learner able to maintain composure in high-pressure environments.
- Hands-on approach to work, willing to manage day-to-day requirements.
- Understanding of financial compliance requirements.
- Collaborative and consultative team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in problem-solving, including identification, solution development, and execution.
