Job DetailsResponsibilities
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies, present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
- Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial.
- Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, case management statements, and trial briefs.
- Conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for corporations and individuals.
- Handle consumer financial litigation and class action cases with diligence and professionalism.
- Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Negotiate settlements in civil disputes.
- Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest developments in law and in the legal profession.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in general litigation.
- Proven experience with consumer financial services litigation and class action cases.
- Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and understand laws and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle a significant caseload and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
