Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney, you will be expected to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including:
1. Represent clients in all stages of civil litigation, from initiation to resolution, both in court and in negotiations.
2. Draft discovery requests and responses, interrogatories, and request for admissions.
3. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
4. Prepare and argue pretrial motions, conduct depositions, and participate in arbitration or mediation proceedings.
5. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
6. Collaborate effectively with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles.
8. Provide legal advice to clients and maintain attorney-client confidentiality.
9. Develop relationships with clients and work to understand their needs and goals to better represent them.
10. Participate in business development activities to attract and retain clients.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for the Civil Litigation Associate Attorney position must possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation.
4. Proven experience in drafting discovery requests and responses.
5. Exceptional negotiation, research, and communication skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and cases while meeting deadlines.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
10. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
11. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
