Job DetailsPosition Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of statutory accounting and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and providing strategic insights to drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the statutory accounting function, including preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including but not limited to tax filings, government regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and compliance teams, to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations, assess their impact on the organization, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and external stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred not required
  • 5 years of Assistant Controller/Controller experience in statutory accounting, preferably in Insurance.
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting requirements and accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with Accounting Softwares (QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, etc)
