Salary $130,000 - $145,000 per year

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Communications to join our team. This is a role that provides an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver our communications strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing all internal and external communications, public relations, and digital marketing efforts. This role is critical in promoting our non-profit organization's mission, vision, and objectives to our stakeholders and the wider public.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an integrated, organization-wide strategic communications plan to broaden awareness of our programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences.
- Lead the organization's digital marketing initiatives including social media, website content, email campaigns, and other online content.
- Manage the brand identity and ensure a consistent message across all channels and communications.
- Develop and manage relationships with media outlets, manage press releases, and act as the organization's spokesperson when needed.
- Oversee and provide direction to the communications team, including setting performance objectives, conducting performance reviews, and implementing professional development programs.
- Collaborate with the leadership team and other stakeholders to communicate the organization's strategic vision to both internal and external audiences.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the communications strategy and make necessary adjustments.
- Oversee crisis communications and issues management, including developing and implementing crisis communications plans.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior communications role, preferably within a non-profit organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective communications strategies.
- Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques, including digital marketing and social media.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing media relations (online, broadcast, and print).
- Highly collaborative with experience working in a team-oriented, consensus-driven environment.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector and experience working with various stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and the community.
- Experience in crisis communications planning and management.
