Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Compensation Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling general ledger entries and reconciliations, documenting GAAP and SOX controls, and managing CAPEX and OPEX recognition. A background in Big 4 accounting firms is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
Prepare and review general ledger entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
GAAP and SOX Compliance:
Document and ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all accounting processes and financial reporting.
Develop, implement, and monitor SOX controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits to ensure controls are effective and up to date.
CAPEX and OPEX Recognition:
Handle the recognition and tracking of capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX).
Ensure proper classification and reporting of expenses in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
Collaborate with other departments to manage and forecast CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare detailed financial reports and statements for management review.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure cohesive and accurate financial reporting.
Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
Communicate effectively with various departments to gather necessary information for accurate accounting and reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger management, GAAP, and SOX compliance.
Experience with CAPEX and OPEX recognition.
Background in Big 4 accounting firms is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and SOX.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
