We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-driven Junior Accountant to join our team in the scientific industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in a wide range of accounting functions, including month-end closing, budgeting, processing invoices, preparing income statements, year-end close, and monthly reporting. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of financial principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a permanent position!
ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Accountant, your key duties will include
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
- Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly/year-end closings.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting.
- Assisting in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
- Updating financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Assisting with the preparation of and budgeting reports.
- Reviewing and processing invoices and reconciling accounts.
- Participating in annual audits.
- Collaborating with financial management and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 years of proven experience as a Junior Accountant or relevant role in the accounting/finance sector.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- A CPA certification is a plus but not a requirement.
