Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods to optimize efficiency and quality, leveraging knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, and tooling.
• Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design layouts for maximum efficiency, utilizing Lean Manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering and programming teams on material requirements and sheet utilization for optimal nesting programs.
• Liaise with planning and design staff to ensure efficient production methods aligned with Lean principles.
• Coordinate with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange equipment/material purchases, and evaluate products for quality standards.
• Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs to provide decision-making support for management.
• Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
• Identify root causes of defects, implement corrective actions, and report customer concern responses.

What you need for this position:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience in the automotive/truck industry or related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to apply root cause analysis methods.
• Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing Concepts and proficient in statistical analysis and reporting.
