- Oversee and manage all aspects of the organization's tax functions, including compliance, reporting, and planning.
- Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage audits of federal and state tax income, sales and use, payroll, and property tax filings.
- Research the implications of tax laws and advise on tax-related issues and considerations in decision-making.
- Develop and implement robust tax policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, managing the relationship to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide leadership, training, and support to tax department staff.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in tax law and regulations that may impact the organization.
- Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities and strategies.
