Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing the company’s financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations. This position reports directly to the Controller and requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Coordinate and complete annual audits.
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
Develop and maintain financial databases and spreadsheets.
Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
Assist in budget preparation and management activities.
Evaluate accounting and internal control systems.
Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on accounting analysis and findings.
Interact with external auditors and participate in audit processes.
Hire, train, and supervise accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in [industry/niche].
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
