Our company, a leading player in the scientific industry, seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play an integral role in our financial management, particularly in costing and budget control, to ensure our financial health and business growth.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Taking charge of the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits.
2. Conducting regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
3. Collaborating with various departments to compile and interpret financial data for strategic decision-making.
4. Developing and implementing effective cost accounting systems and processes to optimize resources.
5. Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
6. Performing cost variance analysis, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvements.
7. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
8. Reviewing and updating standard costs in the bill of materials.
9. Collaborating with the internal audit team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
10. Providing guidance and support to junior cost accountants and other staff members as needed.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA is a plus.
2. A minimum of five years of experience in a cost accounting role, preferably in the scientific industry.
3. Proficiency in ledger and other accounting software.
4. Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial data analysis and forecasting.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present financial information to non-financial colleagues.
7. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
9. Knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
10. High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
