Job DetailsResponsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex insurance defense matters from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to provide strategic guidance to clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Collaborate with partners and other team members to develop case strategies and ensure client objectives are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar with a minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law in New York.
• Extensive experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on insurance coverage disputes, personal injury claims, and property damage cases.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior associates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience representing insurers and/or self-insured entities.
• Knowledge of New York civil procedure and substantive law.
• Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration.
• Strong academic credentials.
