This role will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. The successful candidate will prepare and analyze budgets, perform general bookkeeping, assist with annual audit preparations, and manage the financial aspects of state and federal grants. Job DetailsResponsibilities
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly journal entries, cash receipts, and bank deposits.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monitor budget variances.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and manage the financial aspects of state and federal grants.
  • Manage the grant administration process, including the timely filing of required reports and applications.
  • Prepare for annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
  • Provide support in nonprofit accounting, including fund accounting, restricted and unrestricted revenue, and expense classifications.
  • Prepare trial balances and reconcile ledger accounts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial transactions, nonprofit accounting, general ledger, trial balance, grant administration, audit preparation, and state and federal grants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software and databases.
  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not required.
