We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Permanent Superintendent with a background in Ground Up, Commercial, Interior, and Light-Industrial Construction. This role is integral to our operations and requires a proactive, hands-on professional capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. If you have a passion for construction, a keen eye for detail, and a knack for effective leadership, we want to hear from you. With over 5 years of experience under your belt, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, project specifications, regulations, timelines, and safety codes.
ResponsibilitiesThe Permanent Superintendent will be responsible for the following
  • Managing all site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, directing on-site personnel, and dealing with any issues that may arise.
  • Ensuring project timelines are met, identifying and addressing any potential delays.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures, fostering a safe work environment.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and other construction specialists.
  • Resolving any problems, discrepancies, or conflicts that arise during construction.
  • Maintaining excellent communication with the project team, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company standards, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Permanent Superintendent position must possess the following
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry, specifically in Retail, Commercial, Interior, and Light-Industrial Construction.
  • Proficient knowledge of building processes, construction methodologies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with an ability to motivate, guide, and direct a team to achieve project goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues before they escalate.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and technology.
  • A relevant degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification or training in health and safety management is a plus.
  • The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required for travel to and from construction sites.
