Pay: $12-$18 an hour Job type: Part-time Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday Location: Trenton, MI 48183 Benefits Pulled from the full job description - Flexible schedule Full job description Responsibilities:- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing- Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes to diagnoses and procedures- Utilize knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding to ensure proper reimbursement- Verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information into billing system- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal if necessary- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries or disputes- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations Experience:- Proficient in ICD-10 coding guidelines and procedures- Familiarity with ICD-9 codes is a plus- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
