DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS - U.S

Based in New York and reporting to the Managing Director U.S., the Director of Operations - U.S. will be responsible for driving continued performance across all stores assigned, delivering consistent operations excellence, continually improving the engagement, retention and development of people, and enabling the new store growth trajectory of the U.S. market. This individual will embody the company pillars of Health, Experience, Convenience, and Sustainability, leading and being an ambassador for JOE’s culture and values, while introducing innovative and best-in-class systems for scalability in both new and existing territories. This will be evident in daily operations, overall strategic vision, and the betterment of the Juicers, which are at the forefront of Joe and The Juice’s success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Driving consistent operations excellence across the brand to meet or exceed targeted revenue and EBITDA targets

• Ensures stores adhere to JOE’s operating standards, ensuring all team members are trained and meet our Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Operations requirements

• Partnering with senior leadership to set the business’s long-term strategy (and accountable for the ops strategy within this) and owning the implementation tools to achieve these goals

• Creating a best-in-class customer experience, driving service excellence and emotional connection at every touchpoint between Juicers and guests

• Improving upon and introducing new levels of convenience throughout the in-store and digital landscapes through seamless technology integration in operations

• Driving sustainability by monitoring and improving waste metrics within the four-wall operations

• Implementing enhanced systems to improve costs across food and beverage, labor, and supplies, leading to increased regional profitability while protecting service and standards

• Oversees the operational sign-off of new stores, ensures the operational readiness of new openings, and provides a post-opening review to ensure the continued improvement of our new store opening process

• Improving upon and creating processes for scalability across the development pipeline, hiring and onboarding, and operations

• Leverages and improves succession and overall Juicer engagement, fostering internal growth, and reducing turnover

• Hiring, developing, and training passionate team members who align with the brand’s core values and assume a high level of accountability and passion for JOE

• Tailoring your approach to the unique requirements in each of the four US markets while also creating synergies and consistency across the entire region

• Overseeing the execution of new product rollouts, ensuring they align with the brand identity and customer preferences

• Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to develop and implement promotional campaigns and initiatives as well as assesses local marketing opportunities

• Managing inventory management, and food safety practices to ensure the highest quality and consistency of food products

• Constantly analyzing the business and all data related to guest satisfaction and operating KPIs to continually improve, implement new strategies, and identify target areas of opportunity to enhance the overall business

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Food Science or a related field

• Minimum of six years of leadership experience in multi-unit operations management, preferably in fast-casual or quick-service restaurant settings; multi-market, drive-thru, and private equity experience a plus

• A passion for and embodiment of the Joe & The Juice vision and company pillars with a strong sense of culture building and brand engagement

• Proven experience driving measurable results across guest satisfaction and profitability in a multi-unit brick-and-mortar business which leverages digital experiences (eg Delivery, App Order and Collect, self-serve point of sale)

• A track record of successful growth both in new unit count and same-store sales

• Excellence and knowledge of freshly-prepared food and drinks; keenly aware of cutting-edge F&B trends and general consumer trends across various markets in the U.S.; a student of the industry is a plus

• A collaborative and hands-on leadership style that fosters high performance throughout the organization while maintaining a positive work environment, leading by example

• Knowledge of new technologies and the insight to know when to move quickly as an early adopter and monitoring future success metrics in order to decide when to adopt new technologies

• An obsession with consumer experience and the ability to operationalize the brand story in the stores

• High levels of both EQ and IQ coupled with tactical skills in written and oral communication

• Ability to live in the metro New York City area and able to do extensive travel across the U.S.

Full package will depend on experience and performance.
