• Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art

• Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment

• Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection

• Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports

• Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community

• Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy

• Practices positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom

• Communicates with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns

• Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits

• Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff

• Teaching experience in Art preferred.

• Certified applicants receive priority and retired teachers are encouraged to apply.

• Teachers of Religion must fulfill TCCB ED 150 hours minimum requirements.

• Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
• Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
• Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures.
