Pay Range
$69,400.00-$95,500.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Production Supervisor to work the 5p-5a shift at our manufacturing facility in Richmond, IN. The Richmond, Indiana plant produces high volumes of quality blown wool insulation for contractors and retail customers.
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the day to day activities of an hourly production team for a single product line to ensure manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost and wastage targets; and quality standards. The supervisor will coordinate training, enforce safety guidelines, and interface with other departments in support of production.
This is a 24-hour 7 day a week production facility, qualified candidates will be willing to work any shift and any shift schedule; position reports to the General Supervisor.
Your Day to Day:

• Supervise, train, and provide direction to production team (12-14 employees).
• Plan and schedule the utilization of equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels
• Investigate root causes issues that are related to scrap, process excursions, quality complaints and or fire investigations
• Ensure production team understands complies with established operating systems in safety, environmental, quality and process controls and the company's overall policies
• Utilize key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control and other shift functions
• Accurately submit hours worked to payroll for all production employees in a timely manner
• Transmit production performance statistics concerns to Production Shift Leaders, Maintenance, and Superintendent and make recommendations for improvement
• Prepare labor, material and equipment usage reports
• Fostering an inclusive and positive work environment
• Understand and administer labor agreement
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

• High School Diploma required, College degree (preferred)
• 2-3 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Manages a staff of 12-14 hourly employees, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring and terminating.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of production processes
• Strong aptitude for learning and understanding company policies
• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• SAP or ERP systems preferred
• Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
• Minimal travel required 0 - 10 days per year
• May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 50 pounds.
