Hours: 8:00pm – 5:30am, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands)
Position OverviewThe Assistant Team Leader will perform as a proactive, “change agent” in the facility and provide support and direction to Members. The Assistant Team Leader will be expected to operate equipment daily, lead, motivate, and facilitate learning for all Members. In addition, this leader will be a technical and business resource in areas of continuous improvements. This Leader will be able to establish and sustain effective relationships with all Members in order to foster an environment where innovation, cooperation and ownership are used to solve problems.
Responsibilities

• Consistently manufacture "great tasting" sausage products according to specifications
• Lead & encourage great daily “Tailgate” meeting discussions with stuffing team.
• Coach Members on 3rd Shift to deliver continuous improvement in the areas of safety, productivity, food safety/quality, cost of goods manufactured, customer service, member development and BPTW.
• Ensure appropriate Coaches/Members are aware of problems, issues, and events that could affect safety, food safety/quality, cost, customer service, member development and BPTW.
• Embrace and practice servant leadership principles with entire team.
• Ensure a safe, helpful, team atmosphere, which promotes continuous improvement among team Members.
• Assist team leader in performing annual member evaluation and SAP recertification process. Assist members to grow in their God given talents.
• Assist team leader in annual lock out / tag out and fork lift training.
• Become skilled using Redzone & Power BI to be a problem solver and lead sub teams to improve process.
• In terms of JVL’s “Guiding Principles and Values” be a positive role model for all Members to emulate.
• Champion Safety.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to do heavy lifting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Strong math background is required
• Must be able to communicate and demonstrate teamwork performance to maintain World Class Results
• Must be able to push/pull full racks of product.
• Must be able to complete production documentation paperwork accurately
• Ability to learn and then properly use SAP to help manage an accurate casing inventory and to put product on hold if needed.
• Must be willing to cross-train and promote member growth throughout stuffing, formulation and smoking.
• Must be able to obtain a fork-lift license
• Must be willing to learn basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, Kronos, SAP, & Red Zone
