Regional General Contractor specializing in apartment projects is seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to join their expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor, Material Supplier, and Subcontractor Relations - Build and maintain positive relationships, address inquiries and discrepancies promptly and professionally. Ensure invoices entered agree to statements received. Check for commitments (on subcontractor or PO invoices) which reconcile to the AIA Document, current payment due, gross amount and retainage payable.
• Invoice Processing
• Process Improvement - Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounts payable function.
• Process credit card transactions and reconcile to monthly statement.
• Maintain the vendor master file, ensuring all new vendors submit a W-9, COIs are obtained for all vendors and manage the year-end 1099 process.
• Assist project managers with questions about invoices and payments to subcontractors and suppliers on their jobs.
• Preparing and sending out lien waivers for processing check runs.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounts payable
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing priorities
• Construction experience a plus
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
