Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of nursing care.
- Coordinate and supervise nursing activities, including resident assessments, care planning, and medication administration.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing coaching and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure interdisciplinary care planning and coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing services and resident records.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to long-term care nursing.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa, with prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in a senior housing or skilled nursing setting.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse team of nursing professionals and foster a positive work environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment, care planning, and medication management.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and resident-centered care.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- CPR certification and other relevant certifications as required by state regulations.
