Job Description: Director of NursingCompany: Regency Park Nursing & Rehab Center of Jefferson Location: Jefferson, Iowa Position: Full-Time Job Description: Director of Nursing (DON) at Regency Park Nursing & Rehab Center of JeffersonOverview: As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care within our facility. You will lead a team of dedicated nursing professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in senior housing or skilled nursing and possess strong leadership and managerial skills.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of nursing care.
  • Coordinate and supervise nursing activities, including resident assessments, care planning, and medication administration.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing coaching and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure interdisciplinary care planning and coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing services and resident records.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to long-term care nursing.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa, with prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in a senior housing or skilled nursing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse team of nursing professionals and foster a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment, care planning, and medication management.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and resident-centered care.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CPR certification and other relevant certifications as required by state regulations.
