Jones Alternative, Inc. is Hiring a Program Director Near Orlando, FL

About us:

Jones Alternative, Inc. ("Jones Alternative") is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) organization created as a trauma-informed and focused therapeutic group home. Our organization's mission is to provide healing care and educational services to female victims of sexual trauma, including molestation, rape, incest, and human trafficking.

Jones Alternative provides Trauma Informed (TI) Therapeutic Residential Group Home services to female victims of sexual trauma, including molestation, rape, incest, and human trafficking, under the care of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Through the deliverance of services, Jones Alternative intends to decrease the recidivism rate amongst program participants, increase academic performance, and assist residents in developing the skills needed to live productive lives within their communities.

Job Brief:

The Program Director (“RD”) is responsible for the oversight of Jones Alternative Programs. The Director ensures that each facility is maintained and operational procedures are implemented. Working with the Facility Administrator(s), the Director will ensure that all internal and external reporting requirements are met. Internal requirements include Jones Alternative Inc.’s Policies and Procedures. External requirements include Department of Children and Families (DCF), Community Care Licensing (CCL), and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF).

In addition, the Director is responsible for supporting the Facility Administrator(s) to ensure they submit all state or agency-required paperwork, administrative tasks, and logistics. Furthermore, the Director will ensure that the Facility Administrator(s) follow the correct protocols for conducting Intake, scheduling, and communication with residents and family stakeholders and that person-centered plans and other requirements for the care of persons served are met.

Finally, the Director is responsible for working with the Leadership Team to ensure that the Program Evironment meets or exceeds its evidence-based outcome model as a residential treatment program or Qualified Behavioral Residential Treatment Program and that staff meet or exceed the competency required to deliver the program activities and curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operation of Jones Alternative’s facilities, including supervision of Facility Administrators
  • Onboard approved staff and ensures they receive all required training
  • Oversees administration of State and licensing documentation requirements, including training requirements
  • Executes administrative tasks, including budget management, occupancy oversight, and all regulatory paperwork.
  • Competent use of software platforms (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Sincron, and Electronic Health Record) when executing various administrative and facility-related tasks.
  • Counsels, advises, and assists residents concerning personal, interpersonal, and facilities concerns.
  • Implements, supervises, and supports the approved Evidence Based programs and training for residents.
  • Completes and maintains all necessary training as required by the Department of Children and Families (“DCF”) and our Community-based Care client(s). 65C-46,010 Child Records and Confidentiality Requirements.65C-46.011 Personnel and Staffing Requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Jones Alternative's Advisory Committee
  • Support building relationships with community partners (i.e., SOLO District)
  • Ensure the record of the residents are complete through ongoing file reviews, which includes:
  • Assurance that a Complete Service Plan exists for all residents within 30 days of arrival
  • Service Plans are reviewed monthly and updated quarterly as part of Child/family team meetings.
  • Therapist/counseling assessments, Treatment Plans, Psych Evaluations, Behavioral Assessments, Progress notes, and discharge summaries are completed as per documentation guidelines.

The Program Director must obtain, clear, and maintain a Level II security check defined as a check for arrests, charges, and convictions related to crimes against vulnerable persons.

  • Teaches, models, and participates in individual and group instruction, in daily living, recreational activities, social skills, emotional regulation skills, and independent living skills as prescribed by each youth's Individual Treatment Plan and the Residential Program Plan
  • Continually trains and maintains certification in implementing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or other approved behavior modification programs.
  • Follow Jones Alternative's Policies, Procedures, and Residential Program Plan, including daily schedule, administration of expectations and associated consequences, and mental health treatment of youth in residential care. House Parent(s) adjust daily schedules as needed, and that supports a nurturing, educational, and positive environment.
  • Establish positive relationships with the youth's biological parents, social workers, counselors, child psychologists, teachers, mentors, and any treatment team members. It is essential to successfully engage and interact with a diverse demographic.
  • Work collaboratively with the Jones Alternative team to provide quality services to exceed expected outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in Crisis Stabilization, Documentation, and Child Protective Investigations is highly preferred.
  • Participate in weekly clinical, staff, and Child and Family Team Meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Regquirements and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, LCSW (preferred) or LMSW; or Ph.D. in psychology (licensed) required.
  • Several consecutive years of administrative, clinical, and managerial experience overseeing a significant and diverse child welfare social service operation.
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g., capacity to develop tracking systems and Excel templates).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in the field of child welfare.
  • Ability to travel to various Central Florida communities.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overnight shift
  • Weekends as needed
