JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for commercial loan underwriting and for providing administrative support to the Commercial Loan Department and Credit Administration functions of the Bank.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare non-complex loan presentations to be presented to Officers Loan Committee (OLC) and the Bank’s Board of Directors
• Coordinate and assist lenders in the preparation of non-complex annual Line of Credit Reviews (LOCR’s) and Annual File Reviews (AFR’s)
• Track and monitor portfolio concentrations including Hotel/Motel, Participations, Tax Exempt, and Cannabis Related Businesses
• Attend OLC and “Golden Ticket” meetings as needed, providing an explanation of the financial analysis
• Routinely incorporate compliance (knowledge of applicable laws/regulations) and generally accepted lending principles in daily tasks
• Provide occasional training on Commercial Underwriting to other JBT employees
• Manage the Bank’s annual LOCR and AFR processes
• Work with the Commercial Loan Specialist to identify customers that are eligible for review
• Complete and distribute monthly status reports to lenders, the Chief Lending Officer, and Credit Administration
• Manage the tickler process to ensure accurate tracking
• Assist Lenders in the preparation and underwriting of Non- OLC commercial loan approval documents
• Perform due diligence work customary in commercial loan transactions
• Evaluate financial statements, personal and business tax returns, personal financial statements, borrower prepared projections, management performance, market or industry risk, capital structure, and collateral on non-complex relationships (ex. Investment properties, Sole Proprietorships, etc.)
• Utilize underwriting spreadsheets and spreading software to analyze credit worthiness
• Proofreading written documentation (meeting minutes, loan presentations, correspondence, etc.) to ensure clarity and compliance with generally accepted grammar and spelling standards
• Management of maturing loans
• Assist Credit Administration with assignments related to OLC and Credit Risk Management Committee(CRMC)
• Backup the administration of financial statement request tickler process including scanning income verification documents
• Backup Floor Plan Administrator (FPA) – process additions, payoffs, ensure audit compliance, schedule regular monthly surprise audits, and coordinate communication with Floor Plan customers in the absence of the FPA
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

SKILLS

• Minimum of 1 year of credit analyst experience or 3 years in an equivalent position in a financialinstitution or related industry
• Demonstrate the ability to perform meaningful research beyond the information provided by loan applicants
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Must possess a strong sense of curiosity and the drive to investigate various aspects of a credit request
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to operate the following office equipment: telephone, multifunction devices, personal computer including the MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) applications
• Proficient mathematics skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of keyboard proficiency
• Ability to successfully handle confidential materials
• Ability to work well independently
• Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift approximately 25 pounds
