Job Overview:

The Biller II, Dental is responsible for providing thorough and accurate collection of patient accounts. The Biller II will provide support for various departments as needed in the attainment of stated goals. In addition, the Biller II, will represent the clinic in all initial patient and insurance inquiries dealing with Patient Financial Services issues.

Duties:

• Submit preauthorization’s to various insurance plans for coverage on planned services.
• Assesses, tracks, and collects on patient account balances.
• Assist in verifying eligibility for Federally Funded Slide Fee Scale.
• Performs insurance and billing functions include verifying patient account information to insurance program specifications.
• Resolve routine patient billing inquiries and problems; follow up on balances due from payers.
• Ability to understand ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
• Performs insurance denial resolution.
• Monitors self-pay accounts, assesses need for internal collection action.
• Monitors collection letter process and sets up acceptable payment plans with patients.
• Researches old balances and works with patient account representatives to assist patients in accurate and satisfactory recovery of insurance benefits.
• Adjust accordingly for documented bankruptcies and NSF check issues.
• Responsible for maintaining and running the recurring Credit Card payments.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years dental office reimbursement experience preferred
• Some math, accounting, ICD-10, and an understanding of patient care skills.
