WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Relentlessly, curious, and passionate about the creation and delivery of exceptional color for our Athlete*. You will hold a key leadership position on our Global Footwear Materials Team. Together our team will create and deliver world class sustainable materials and color that inspire every consumer in our product!

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the Materials Color Development Director for Footwear, you will lead a dynamic and creative team of color developers, delivering global footwear color standards and color excellence. This is a new capability that will enable and accelerate the development of new creation and refresh product with color standards that are reliable and achievable. You'll partner with Digital Product Creation, Central Color, Innovation, Material Design, Dimension Material teams, Apparel, Material Sourcing and Manufacturing, as well as functional leaders in Asia and dimension functional leadership to create the future of FW Materials Color.

You'll lead Footwear’s Color Development creation strategy, setting goals for all aspects of color development including creation, risk assessment, validation, achievability, and execution within Footwear. You will drive corporate color strategy from process to tool execution including physical and digital representation. In this capacity you will lead and evolve best in class color capabilities with a vision for both current and advanced processes. You will manage a team of color experts ensuring execution of color in accordance with calendar deliverables.

Finally, you’ll lead your team's efforts to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive team.

WHAT YOU BRING

In this role, you will drive key strategic functional goals and accountabilities; lead, coach and develop our next generation of leaders through strategic objectives for all aspects of color development including creation, risk assessment, validation and execution. You will drive corporate color palette strategy from process to tool execution by elevating and evolving best-in-class color capabilities with a vision for current and advanced color industry benchmarks and manufacturing processes. This role will partner closely with Design, Materials Standards and Product Integrity on palette build and Region based partners for color development execution.

  • Bachelor's degree in Color, Textiles, Materials, Development, Engineering, or relevant work experience, or experience in project management and/or leadership experience in relevant product-related roles
  • 10 years professional experience in color development, materials development with focus on color within leather, synthetic, plastics, foams or related field
  • Exceptional understanding of color development including physical and/or digital color methods
  • Comprehensive understanding of color development process from inception through to commercialization
  • Exceptional communication and ability to partner across internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of industry benchmarks and manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing portfolio of projects with competing resources and deadlines
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate with various partners cross functionally
  • Ability to pass the Munsell Hue color test for color acuity
  • Prior footwear experience not required
