Who we are looking for
A Design Studio Director who will act as the right hand to the Chief Design Officer of Jordan Brand.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of taking high-level strategy, vision, and big ideas and translating them into tangible business results and team cultural change. They are a mindful and transformative leader who enables team unity and leads by example to establish a culture of authenticity and excellence. They must be a servant leader with a strong ability to build lasting and meaningful relationships within a diverse team. Allowing for the cultivation of a culture where everyone is seen, heard and feels a sense of belonging. They are a consistent self-starting, driven leader fueled by curiosity, continually looking to embrace big picture thinking with an ability to take insights and turn them into actions to elevate future results.
What you will work on
If this is you, you'll be working with the full Jordan Design Studio of creatives from the Chief Design Officer to junior designers and administrative teammates. You will lead Design Studio mission, vision, strategy, leadership and team/budget management. You will create and manage an intentional employee engagement and communication strategy that encourages employee retention, team relationship building, inspiration and product creation innovation. You will expand the engagement strategy to include a long-term roadmap of thoughtful and intentional community impact partnerships that inspire the internal Jordan Design Studio of creatives, while also investing in the development of the next generation of creative minds. You will act as the main point of contact within Design for your Jordan HR business partner to ensure an effective team and talent structure is always in place. You will strategically funnel and prioritize Jordan Executive Leadership deliverables and asks down through the Design leadership team to enable effective and timely outputs. You will develop and manage the Jordan Design annual operating budget in partnership with finance. You will assist with standing up new initiatives and scaling them across the full Jordan Design Studio.
You will provide Design Leadership and their team's with the resources they need to expand and refine their craft to allow them to further create products that inspire our communities and define the industry. At its heart, your mission is to unlock creativity via premier studio management best practices while executing against the high-level vision of Jordan Brand and your Chief Design Officer.
Who you will work with
As the Design Studio Director, you will work closely with the Chief Design Officer of Jordan Brand. You will act as a trusted thought partner to the entire Design Studio leadership team of VP's, Sr. Director's, and Directors of Design. You will maintain strong partnerships with your HR, Finance, Brand Marketing, Communications, and Purpose team partners, while managing a broad scope of both internal and external stakeholder and vendor engagements.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in; Business, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • 10 year's experience in one of or a combination of the following areas of focus: Operations, Portfolio Management, Small Business Ownership/Management, Delivery Enablement, Business Operations, Product Creation /Creative Operations and Strategy Delivery
  • Proven track record to define vision, build strategic plan and deliver measurable results
  • Experienced people manager with an effective track record of leading teams and developing talent.
  • Proven results in driving collaboration and communication within a complex group and cross-functionally within a matrixed organization
  • Excellent influencing and communication abilities at all levels, including executive leadership
