What will you be doing?

The Business Development Executives are the freight hunters and are directly responsible for the growth and performance of new and existing portfolio of business. As a Business Development Rep, you are responsible for the daily buy/sell strategy and decision making across your customer accounts. You will work alongside a Customer Operations Manager and will collaborate to drive account strategy, capitalize on growth opportunities and ensure the integrity of JOS Group's services are being maximized. Furthermore, you will be the daily point of contact (internal/external) across your portfolio of accounts for all load planning, relationship development, escalated issues, resolutions and communication efforts. Overall your goal is to bring the best customer service possible through our suite of services while maintaining the highest level of integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal stakeholders to manage each customers RFP/RFQ's
  • Determine the tender commitment strategy for each account and collaborate with the Executive Level team to execute on the strategy
  • Manage the service levels across each account
  • Spot quote shipments
  • Develop relationships with Load Planners
  • Hit the phones and generate leads to build your own book of business. Whether you’re cold calling shippers to learn about their needs, or reaching out to trucking companies to understand their capacity, there’s an unlimited amount of opportunity to create relationships!
  • Provide top-notch customer service through consistently meeting and exceeding customer preferences. We treat our customers’ freight like it’s our own.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the market so you can quote your customers or carriers competitively with strong focus towards cost savings and customer service.
  • Problem solve through issues that occur during transit and provide quick, effective solutions. Be ready to think on your feet and use your resources!
  • Build relationships & collaborate internally. We cannot do our jobs without each other!
  • Communicate externally with your customers and represent the JOS Group brand through transparent & professional communication via phone & email.
  • Hustle! Freight changes minute-to-minute, and you have to be prepared to pivot as priorities shift.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of 2 years transportation/logistics sales experience
  • Proven ability to drive customer account growth, both revenue and profitability
  • Deep understanding of the freight market patterns and behaviors
  • Proven experience spot quoting and successfully navigating other pricing opportunities
  • Ability to align growth initiatives with industry leading service levels
  • A college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, preferred. (NOT REQUIRED)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000 per year plus aggressive commission splits of 12% (No Draw)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 0730-1200 in office, afternoons are remote
