Background

  • Works under general direction of the HR Manager.
  • Supports overall administration and coordination of employee relations and engagement, including leaves of absences, benefits, and employee development programs.
  • Supports organization in upholding Human Rights standards, policies, and procedures.

Tasks

  • Aids team members regarding benefit and human resource questions and issues in a timely manner.
  • Drives employee engagement efforts including Jost Do It, recognition programs.
  • Handles all employee investigations.
  • Manages EEOC or other federal/state/local agency changes.
  • Manages ADP enrollment questions for new and existing employees.
  • Works closely with carriers regarding employee situations.
  • Manages open enrollment.
  • Manages all leave of absences (FMLA, ADA, etc).
  • Assist in decision-making, organizational development, and company policies.
  • Make sure that the company is compliant with regulations, labor laws, and employment laws.
  • Calculate and analyze metrics such as employee turnover and return on investments on various company programs and policies.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management for the betterment of Jost operations.

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s/master’s in human resource management or a closely related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of:
    1. Human resource practices and procedures.
    2. Federal, state and local laws, rules and/or regulations affecting HR administration
    3. Mathematics (Basic level)
    4. Office methods and procedures.
    5. MS Office Suite
  • Ability to:
    1. Work independently with sound judgment.
    2. Direct the work of others.
    3. Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a wide variety of people.
    4. Multi-task and work with frequent distractions.
    5. Understand and interpret written procedures and guidelines.
    6. Assist in formulation/revision of HR policies and procedures.
    7. Operate electronic and/or standard office equipment.
    8. Maintain confidentiality.
  • Skill in:
    1. Organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
    2. Project management.
    3. Customer service and dealing with a wide variety of people at all levels.
