Journey Center is Hiring a Behavioral Consultant- ABA Near Altoona, PA

  • Adhere to all applicable insurance payor requirement
  • Attend all educational/skills training, staff meetings, supervision that is either mandatory or requested by the program supervisor.
  • Complete all paperwork documentation according to Journey Center and Pennsylvania Mental Health regulation. (e.g. incident reports, C&YS 47, etc.) on a timely basis.
  • Complete performance self-evaluation yearly and of supervised staff
  • Conduct therapeutic and behavioral assessments and interventions in the client’s natural environment (i.e. home, school, and community).
  • Contact assigned BHT weekly for consultation and clinical direction when applicable.
  • Demonstrate support of the Journey Center’s mission and philosophy in the delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement an individualized, strength-based treatment plan within 45 days after written order and update the treatment plan once a year unless ITP needs changed or updated before end date.
  • Write a progress report every 6 months or as needed.
  • Document all client- related contacts.
  • Evaluate readiness for discharge and complete client discharge within 5 days after the client is discharged.
  • Inform supervisor of changes to client’s treatment status.
  • Maintain and protect client and agency confidentiality.
  • Maintain confidential documentation of client records.
  • Maintain regular contact with other client treatment providers (School, Psychiatrist, Intensive Case Manager, etc.)
  • Monitor client authorization dates to assure services are authorized insurance requirements.
  • Monitor voicemail every 24-48 hours.
  • Notify family and all service providers when unable to maintain a scheduled visit. (i.e School, BHT, etc.)
  • Promote personal and co-worker safety during work duties.
  • Represent and participate in Journey Center professional and community activities as requested.
  • Review written order and all pertinent information before beginning a case and at the start of each authorization period.
  • Schedule treatment sessions with the client and or family on a regular basis.
  • Complete clinical progress notes after every session.
  • Work to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to external/internal customers.
  • Attend monthly supervision meeting with Clinical Director to discuss cases and to review any pertinent paperwork.
  • Maintain record of supervision of RBT’s.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s level in any of the following Special Education, Psychology, licensed social worker, or Mental Health clinician with a minimum of two years of experience. Experience with children that have an autism diagnosis is desired.
  • Access to transportation in the Journey Center service areas with a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
  • Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis is a bonus.
  • Document all client- related contacts.
  • Evaluate readiness for discharge and complete client discharge within 5 days after the client is discharged.
