Basic Function: Oversee the financial operations and accounting activities within the organization. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Direct the Accounting & Finance (A&F) team to complete daily work, improve processes, and achieve departmental goals.
  • Lead all A&F hiring initiatives and work with the Director of A&F to evaluate and update team structure.
  • Manage team outcomes, including training & development, performance assessment, and corrective action.
  • Compile and sort documents and maintain files, including invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
  • Verify and post details of business transactions, including funds received and disbursed and total accounts.
  • Prepare and input data into the general ledger with journal entries.
  • Data entry or typing of vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and reviewing overdue accounts.
  • Telephone duties, including customer and vendor inquiries.
  • Produce financial statements and develop statements for use in the company.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial information.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly kitchen inventory as required.
  • Conduct monthly physical retail inventory as required.
  • Conduct additional departmental inventories as required.
  • Perform various accounting activities (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) such as account reconciliations (10 bank accounts, 15 credit card accounts, inventory, and select other asset and liability accounts).

Requirements

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL SKILLS:

  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions, as well as to retrieve information from technical sources.
  • Ability to use logical or rational thinking to solve problems.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations including calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Attention to detail and skilled in working with figures.
  • Ability to visually verify various report results.
  • Ability to accomplish the desired duties through the use of appropriate computer and general office equipment, primarily using accounting software, POS systems, payroll systems and Microsoft software.
  • Ability to perform light physical work; may be required to lift up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, up to ten pounds frequently and up to five pounds constantly, performing such activities as bending stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to five hours without sitting.

REQUIRED WORK HABITS:

  • Work habits include regular attendance, team work, initiative, dependability and promptness.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include some weekend days.

EDUCATIONAL, DEVELOPMENT AND WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Proven track record of leading A&F team(s) to achieve success.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a public accounting firm is desired.
  • Knowledge of general business administration practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks software with inventory is required.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with specific focus on Excel, is required.
  • Familiarity with an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works in an administrative business office.
  • Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and repetitive motion syndromes if proper safety procedures are not followed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation
