MEP Project Manager

  • The MEP Project Manager works closely with all members of the project team and is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, low voltage, fire/life safety, and fire sprinkler system scopes of a project(s), including design and construction management.
  • You are a resource for the Design and Construction team throughout phases of the project.
  • Responsible for onsite construction support for MEP systems to ensure compliance with design, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee the installation, start-up, testing, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification of MEP systems, including owner training and project closeout.

  • You have experience in the estimating and preconstruction team with bidding, validating MEP design and construction budget estimates, defining /developing MEP scopes of work, and soliciting / vetting early trade partners.
  • You manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout the duration of the project – from preconstruction and design to groundbreaking through commissioning and turnover to Owner.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors, commissioning agents, 3rd party inspectors, design team members, and Owners.
  • Support Project Team members responsible for Subcontractor Management as needed


Influencer, Inspirer, Leader

  • Attend progress / design team meetings and review contract documents (drawings and specifications) for conformance, constructability, and coordination – track design issues and make recommendations/modifications as needed related to the MEP trades.
  • Lead the effort to ensure timely resolution of design and construction issues including risk identification and risk mitigation related to the MEP trades.
  • Oversee coordination of MEP systems through the project virtual design and construction process.
  • Participate in review of MEP related shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Assist with development and update of project schedule – coordinate activities, material procurement, and other related activities with project team.
  • Provide assistance as needed in the billing process including the review and approval of MEP subcontractor invoicing, progress payments, and retainage.
  • Evaluate costs related to MEP design changes.
  • Participate in project sustainability efforts as needed.
  • Develop and oversee project-specific MEP quality programs as needed.
  • Train and develop others as MEP coordinators.
  • Other duties assigned by your manager


What You Bring:

  • Four-year college degree related to Construction Management or MEP Engineering or completion of an apprenticeship and a combination of at least four years of field and managerial experience.
  • At least five years of experience in MEP design, coordination, and construction with advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering concepts and applicable codes.
  • Good understanding of fire/life safety & fire sprinkler systems, test & balance process / requirements, and building automation systems / sequences.
  • Proficient in the use of current virtual design and construction software.
  • Must possess superior communication and interpersonal (facilitation, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills.
