Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as trusted advisor to technology, operations and business leaders, especially in fast moving and high pressure situations 
  • Maintain a laser-like focus on the impact and expected reactions of customers and employees 
  • Communicate simply, clearly and quickly to internal and external audiences
  • Gather and process information quickly, recommend communication approach and messaging and create consensus 
  • Coordinate messaging across call centers, branches, digital, social media and media, and deploy judiciously. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior business and functional leaders as well as other key stakeholders in legal, risk and public affairs
  • Anticipate potential risks to businesses and customers, and develop potential responses
  • Coordinate the work of talented individuals, inspire performance excellence and foster a collaborative team culture
  • Prepare internal audiences for the expected reaction of customers, the media and regulators to challenging news and situations 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities: 

  • 10 years of relevant external communications experience in a large, matrixed organization or within a PR agency, preferably supporting high-profile consumer brands
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills 
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, especially the ability to simplify complex issues into everyday language
  • Experience in working quickly on crisis topics with incomplete and emerging information 
  • Ability to deliver uncomfortable truths to internal and external audiences during challenging situations 
  • Ability to bring calm, clear thinking to stressful situations 
  • Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with team members across business and staff areas 
  • Team player with an enthusiastic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit who is eager to learn, contribute and make an impact
  • Maintain a passion for protecting and enhancing the reputation of our firm
