JPMC Candidate Experience page is Hiring a Global Real Estate Monitoring - Vice President Near New York, NY

Global Security (GS) protects the firm's employees and assets across global regions. GS’s responsibilities include the development of global security policies and procedures, security operations and investigations of regulatory noncompliance and fraud. Global Real Estate Monitoring (GREM) is a specialized team within the GS External Fraud Investigations group that provides risk management monitoring, controls assessments, vendor due diligence, forensic cost management reviews, and steady-state monitoring for Global Real Estate (GRE) major projects and programs and across all global regions. GREM regularly partners with GRE regional and functional teams as well as other firm functions, including Control Management, Finance & Business Management, Compliance and Legal to prevent, identify and mitigate emerging operational, regulatory, financial, and reputational risks to GRE and the firm. GREM also provides investigative and operational support to other GS teams as requested.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with GRE Monitoring team members and external consultants to develop and implement construction and real estate risk and controls assessments, steady-state project monitoring programs, vendor due diligence assessments/background investigations and forensic cost reviews/audits for GRE major projects and programs.
  • Partner with key GRE, GS and Chief Administrative Office (CAO) stakeholders to prevent, identify and mitigate emerging risks on GRE major projects and programs, such as controls gaps, fraudulent activities, overbilling, other financial loss, regulatory non-compliance and/or other potential reputational risks presented by improper vendor conduct.
  • Plan and conduct construction and real estate risk and controls assessments and steady-state monitoring of GRE major project and program activities to evaluate compliance with JPMC, CAO and GRE policies as well as applicable legal, regulatory and contractual requirements and identify risk/process gaps and recommendations.
  • Manage and maintain project and program monitoring reporting and tracking processes for GRE major projects and programs to ensure that observations, issues, key risks, control gaps and process improvement recommendations are properly identified and escalated to key stakeholders. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to manage controls and process enhancements through full implementation.
  • Evaluate site conditions and construction progress site and field visits to active GRE major projects.
  • Actively participate in internal and external GRE project and/or program governance meetings as a representative of the GRE Monitoring team.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience performing complex fraud investigations, real estate/ construction risk and controls assessments, real estate/ construction project monitoring, real estate/ construction forensic audits and/or other real estate/ construction risk management reviews in a law enforcement, regulatory, legal, internal compliance and/or external consultant or audit role. 
  • Prior experience in real estate/construction industry investigations, audits, oversight or monitoring strongly preferred including knowledge of real estate/ construction contracting, internal controls, invoicing and change management processes.
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including the ability to effectively communicate process improvement recommendations and other information to all levels of internal and external staff and management.
  • Solid organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Prior experience in law enforcement, regulatory enforcement and/or performing complex fraud investigations, real estate and construction monitoring and/or audits strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of and connectivity to real estate and construction operations and cost management processes required to leverage best practices and provide opportunities for innovative and successful monitoring program strongly preferred
