Capital and Liquidity Policy sits within the Treasury/Chief Investment Office as part of the Capital & Liquidity Management function which oversees the end-to-end regulatory capital measurement across the firm. The open position is in the Retail, Securitization and Banking Book Equity coverage team, where you will be responsible for guidance and interpretations on the US regulatory capital & liquidity treatment for the Securitized Products Group within the Corporate & Investment Bank, Lines Of Business including the review of strategic business initiatives and large or novel transactions, partnering with business, finance, and risk teams. CALM oversees the end-to-end risk-weighted asset and regulatory capital measurement processes across the Firm, ensures efficient and appropriate management of our capital, and manages the firm wide capital stress testing process. Regulatory Capital & Liquidity Policy role: You will be responsible for interpreting and providing guidance on US regulatory capital and liquidity rules for current, pending, and proposed transactions in support of Front Office, Risk, Finance and Technology. Job Summary: to review and interpret US and international capital & liquidity rules and proposals to oversee and coordinate the activities of established teams in Finance and Risk to ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory capital & liquidity requirements to liaise with the U.S. regulatory agencies regarding, regulatory examinations, capital and liquidity policy and ad-hoc inquiries to support Finance, Front Office and management teams across the globe with respect to application of US regulatory capital & liquidity rules (and where they differ from local/regional requirements) Job responsibilities: Maintaining a high level of current technical knowledge and applying it to generate high quality support and oversight Obtaining a clear understanding of the business initiative/transaction/scenario in question ensuring all relevant key facts are considered Understanding the economic drivers and other factors relevant for the situation in question including the substance of the arrangement Independently and efficiently identifying the relevant regulatory guidance and policy interpretations/expectations Performing a comprehensive and balanced analysis addressing the strengths/weaknesses of the potential conclusions Ensuring consistency in application through review of historical analyses and consultation Proposing conclusions that appropriately consider the relevant regulations and supporting regulatory guidance, regulatory feedback along with considerations such as risk, operational feasibility, market practice, and materiality Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: Demonstrate an ability to explain complex topics clearly, concisely, persuasively, and in a manner appropriate to the audience, while explaining the business purpose and intent of the transaction/scenario being presented/evaluated Maintain effective relationships with internal clients in assigned coverage areas to understand the clients' business, control infrastructure, and process initiatives, and to be aware of open issues, recent interpretations, regulatory developments and the associated impact on the business/risk stripe Consider the materiality and urgency of transactions/projects/issues and to prioritize and organize them to ensure issues are addressed or escalated on a timely basis Actively consider where communication and engagement with other teams is necessary or helpful for project completion and resolution of issues across regulatory requirements Apply the appropriate level of review required based on the clarity of the relevant guidance, the level of judgment applied in arriving at the conclusion, the impact of the conclusion and the extent to which the conclusion may be challenged Proactively look to identify potential regulatory/other issues for transactions and situations, to identify potential regulatory capital effects on the Firm related to current market conditions and peers, and to anticipate and proactively address senior management question Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and Visio) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Bachelors degree; Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience, banking and finance experience with either a leading bank or a Big Four accounting firm strongly preferred Strong knowledge of the US Basel III capital rule, financial products and understanding of trade strategies Ability to perform a comprehensive and balanced analyses of complex trade structures independently/under minimum supervision Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), along with strong management, organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills #LI-hybrid
