The Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Investment & Corporate Banking - Capital Markets Product Controller Associate will work closely with the NA lead to support Equity and Debt Capital Markets businesses with all finance related matters inclusive of capital reporting for RWA.Business Background J.P. Morgan's Capital Markets groups serve clients holistically in partnership with the Industry Coverage and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) groups. The firm offers a wide range of global services, from origination and structuring to financing and syndication. The firm's Equity Capital Markets team engages in underwriting activities ranging from initial public offerings and follow-on offerings, to public transactions and private placements for both wealthy nations and emerging markets. The Debt Capital Markets origination team works directly with issuers including corporations, banks and sovereign governments seeking funding. J.P. Morgan advises clients on Debt Capital Markets financing strategies, from a simple bank loan to multi-billion-dollar capital raising across asset classes. J.P. Morgan provides Syndicated Leverage Financing loan and bridge loan options to help companies achieve objectives such as making an acquisition, effecting a buy-out, repurchasing shares or funding a one-time dividend or investment. The Firm arranges leveraged loans, high-yield or junk bonds and mezzanine debt for anizationThe Product Controller team is an integral component of the CIB Finance & Business Management (F&BM) function, and is responsible for providing business advisory and accounting support, control oversight and integrity of the financial statements and transaction end-to-end control in support of the business. Responsibilities of this team include, but are not limited to, oversight of financial statement and management reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting policies including new business initiatives and product review, business performance control, business analytics and expense management. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience JPMorgan businesses, products and technology systems in depth. This position provides a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to support with the pnl and risk production across Capital Markets businesses which focus on equity, bonds, and loan syndication. This candidate will have a rare opportunity to support the Capital Markets teams at JPMorgan, tracking and reporting RWA (Risk Weighted Assets), GSIB (Global Systematically Important Banks), SVA Shareholder Value Added), etc. Job responsibilities: Responsible for Profit & Loss and risk reporting and commentary for Capital Markets products Month-end close - ensuring accurate and complete close-out of books & records for the month and resolution of any discrepancies in the results Investigation, explanation and communication of business drivers underpinning significant financial movements and variances for Front Office, Legal Entity Controllers, Corporate Reporting and other IB and Corporate Finance groups. Tracking, analyzing and investigating Debt Capital Markets RWA, Liquidity Outflow, spot and average balance sheet and related performance measures Provide guidance at business/regional level on efficient B/S & RWA management Support the Balance Sheet, Capital and External Reporting, Month and Quarter End Reporting and Forecasting and Planning Cycles by working with key finance contacts in Product Control and Central CIB Reporting Continuous improvement through review of current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control and reporting environmentRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting and 5 years related business experience required Dynamic team player able to adapt to changing environment and multiple demands Self-starter, independent worker, ability to think outside of the box Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills Strong organizational and time management skills: able to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including extensive experience using Excel and PowerPointPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including extensive experience using Excel and PowerPoint, Alteryx, Xceptor, and Tableau; experienced in writing macros. Controls focused and strong attention to detail is key; accounting qualification preferred but not essential Organized and comprehensive project management approach
