JPMorgan Chase is Hiring a Communications Director-Corporate Responsibility Near Washington, DC

As a Communication Director, you will specifically lead strategic communications for Corporate Responsibility’s careers and skills portfolio as well as the firm’s Second Chance initiative, which spans the firm’s philanthropic, human resources and policy teams. The portfolio demands significant stakeholder management expertise both within a large institution and with external business and social impact coalition partners.

You will report to the Executive Director and Head of Communications for Philanthropy, Policy, and Insights for Corporate Responsibility. You will also contribute to strategic communications planning and execution across additional new thought leadership priorities and opportunities. You should have extensive experience working in a fast-paced public affairs environment and have strong execution capabilities, as well as a proven track record in building and running communications campaigns.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead high impact public affairs and communications strategies to advance short and long term departmental goals 
  • Create and drive compelling narratives that support the Department’s priorities, elevate key principals, and position the firm as a credible, authentic thought leader
  • Identify and lead key announcements and events, in partnership with external organizations and across lines of business
  • Draft public affairs communications and materials, including but not limited to press releases, messaging, media pitches, social media content, speeches, presentations, executive briefings, and beyond
  • Deliver consistent, regular and targeted messages about the firm’s commitments and impact to key audiences including community, government and business leaders.
  • Work with colleagues in CR and across the firm, including Corporate Impact Marketing and Lines of Business communications partners, to create “always on” communications to reach key audiences through tactics such as toolkit design, stakeholder messages, newsletter, video production and report development, online content and data visualization. 
  • Partner with the Corporate Impact Marketing team to provide strategic direction for our local and national CR marketing efforts.
  • Oversee measurement and reporting of impact of these communications plans, performance and recommend/implement improvements.

Required, Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities

An ideal candidate will have expertise in the intersection of corporate responsibility and public policy and interest in using communications to drive successful outcomes in communities around the world. This person must be a self-starter with a track record of leading successful public affairs campaigns and managing complicated projects and complex stakeholders to achieve exceptional results.   • 10 years relevant experience in public affairs, marketing and communications
  • Significant communications and management experience in the private sector on issues related to economic growth and inclusivity, with public policy and government relations advocacy, and/or philanthropy and foundations
  • Track record of effective storytelling and managing compelling public affairs and communications campaigns with measurable results
  • Experience advising and interacting with executive-level management and senior leadership
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong project management experience, including managing teams and work across departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound judgment and strong collaborative decision-making skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to manage constantly changing priorities and timelines
  • Commitment to exemplifying the highest standards of integrity and professional excellence
