Job Description:The Private Bank Business Control Management team works in partnership with the Business, as the first line of defense against operational risks that have a potential to impact the Bank. The team works in collaboration with all other control functions - Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and oversees the new Business Initative Approval process.As a Business Control Management Associate in the Latin America Private Bank, you will be responsible for ensuring the Line of Business (LOB) has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in immediate, real time critical control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis and remediation. Job Responsibilities: In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform end-to-end analysis of the business' risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols Perform ongoing analysis of control metrics (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies Identify proactively and implement business process improvements Project manage stakeholders on control related initiatives, including mitigation of financial losses and key operational and regulatory risks; regulatory inspections, audits, compliance Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: Bachelor's degree required Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial services industry with background in Private Banking, business controls, quality assurance, operational risk management or compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential for data gathering and reporting Business knowledge - ability to understand the Private Banking business / knowledge of regulation surrounding business Problem solving / Analytical skills - solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendations Demonstrable history of execution of process improvement projects, specifically the ability to design, implement and evaluate controls Knowledge of Risk and Control Assessment across key risk areas impacting the conduct of client-facing personnel Reporting /Analytics - ability to synthesize interpret, and present information to senior level audiences Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, quickly assess situations, and work across multiple concurrent work streams Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese language (Oral and Writing) would be a plus
