As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology in the Global Technology Applied Research/Quantum Computing area, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Builds Platform capabilities that helps researchers to conduct and publish results and builds Platform capabilities to deploy and maintain classical and quantum algorithms
• Collaborate with researchers to design, develop and package Quantum/Quantum-Inspired based algorithms that can be integrated with strategic systems
• Documents approaches taken, techniques used and processes followed to comply with company regulations
• Looking for an Engineer with high curiosity and learning mindset. This role requires to collaborate with various stakeholders on new Algorithms and Technologies
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data procatively and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
• BS, MS in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics. Solid understanding of fundamentals of statistics, linear algebra and optimization 
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages, Strong hands-on experience in Python,C/C , Terraform, FastAPI, Worked on python distributed computing framework such as Ray, Dask 
• Knowledge of GPU and CUDA development
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Hands on experience in cloud development in AWS especially EKS, EC2, S3, EFS, Lambda
• Track record of developing, deploying platform capabilities and developing, deploying Algorithm based software
• Track record of developing, deploying Algorithm based software
• Extensive experience with various python libraries such as pytorch, numpy, pandas etc.
• Hands-on experience in implementing distributed/multi-threaded/scalable applications 
• Able to communicate technical information and ideas at all levels; convey information clearly and create trust with stakeholders. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

•  Familiarity with Quantum computing and Quantum Algorithms. Expert in this field is a bonus.
• Familiarity with various Quantum Libraries such as Qiskit, pytket etc.
• Cloud Certification AWS Certified Developer will be an advantage.
