JOB TITLE: Operations Manager DEPARTMENT: Operations

JOB SUMMARY: Manage the activities for seasoning production departments. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overall responsibility for the Plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:

• Responsibility for all shifts of Seasoning Mixing and Packaging operations
• Grows and develops leaders and team to be strong and engaged employees
• Focuses team on improvements and good decision making related to safety
• Improves food safety and food quality culture and works with the team to develop solutions for improvements
• Creates, updates, and maintains all documentation related to operations, including but not limited to: SOPs, RedZone electronic documentation, employee growth plans, and department and individual performance.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams to determine root cause and corrective actions for quality related issues or customer complaints related to production
• Lead process improvement efforts using process improvement tools and teach the improvement mindset
• Enforce daily safety, food safety, quality, and productivity expectations
• Measures and uses data to identify areas needing improvement.
• Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of people and processes.
• Audit production records to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Ensure production inputs and outputs are accurately tracked utilizing our ERP system and RedZone Production System
• Drive labor efficiency improvements through process improvement
• Managing labor and department costs
• Review department staffing requirements including overtime and temporary labor
• Ensuring top notch customer service through operations performance

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or operations management preferred; experience and proven results will be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing leadership is required and preferably in a food production environment.
• Excellent root cause analysis with creative and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think and plan short and long term simultaneously while considering many variables.
• Ability to effectively adapt written and oral communication for audiences of team, peers, leaders, and customers for the purposes of information sharing, training, or technical documentation.
• Ability to work with and effectively influence peers as a part of the operations leadership team.
• Capable of making and communicating quick, difficult, and potentially unpopular decisions for the good of the team.
• Capable of assessing and managing risk, asking for help when needed, and moving forward through uncertainty.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State and local regulations including OSHA and MOSHA. Prior experience in an SQF certified facility is preferred.
