Environmental ROW Agent
Department: Fiber - Fiber Network Design and Implementation Services
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Nephi, UT
Reporting To: Todd Day
Description
JSI is now seeking a talented Environmental Right of Way Agent. This is a remote position that requires the ability to understand routine engineering of telecom construction sheets and maps to determine what permits and private easements will be required to create and submit permit applications.
Key Responsibilities
Among other things, the essential functions of an Environmental Right of Way Agent will include:
  • Must be capable of reading/interpreting engineering drawings and legal descriptions.
  • Qualified to search titles and documents within constraints predetermined by the client for obtaining rights-of-way, easements, and permits necessary for placement of buried fiber optic cabling on private or government-owned property.
  • Remote site ROW acquisition.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings.
  • Verifying and updating client records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Negotiating the acquisition of right of way and other property interests as needed to accommodate the construction, operation, and maintenance of client facilities.
  • Serving as a liaison between clients, cities, and counties, among other parties .
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
These skills are necessary for success in this position; however, they are not prerequisite for employment.
  • Knowledge of the permitting process, including landowner communications and notification process.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of right-of-way, including title research, document preparation, due diligence, negotiation and acquisition, permitting, operation, and public relations, as well as a solid understanding of general regulatory and legal issues.
  • Thorough understanding of telecommunication system objectives and construction techniques.
  • Requires a minimum of two years' experience in ROW for telecom.
  • This position requires US Citizenship or permanent resident status.
  • High School diploma or GED.
