About Us:Join a dynamic team at the forefront of innovation in the food processing industry. We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to lead our 1st shift production operations, ensuring top-notch productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Precision: Oversee and execute production schedules to guarantee timely deliveries. Ensure all manufacturing documentation is meticulously complete and accurate, and transactions are seamlessly integrated into our business system.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance manufacturing techniques to boost quality and streamline product output.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and recommend innovative methods and changes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and optimize the use of manpower, equipment, and supplies.
  • Documentation and Training: Spearhead the development, training, and implementation of all manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, job descriptions, training needs, checklists, and batch sheets.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular reports on key operating metrics and prepare action plans to address any deficiencies.
  • Batch Management: Oversee the making and filling of batches as necessary to support the production schedule.
Supervisory Activities:
  • Goal Setting: Participate in creating goals and action plans for the continuous development of skills and competencies among team members.
  • Employee Reviews: Conduct performance reviews and handle disciplinary issues, developing action plans to enhance performance and correct behaviors as needed.
  • Job Assignment: Recommend and evaluate job assignments to ensure optimal staff utilization based on operational needs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all department personnel adhere to safe work practices and procedures, and that all operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in batch manufacturing (preferably in specialty chemicals, food processing, pharmaceutical, or organic industries) with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with liquid chemical blending and granular/tablet manufacturing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems is essential.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with various manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures, and the ability to work within an accredited quality environment (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, ISO).
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of solving practical problems and making sound decisions independently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs., sit, walk short distances, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Tolerance to various chemical odors is required.
  • Communication: Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong ability to effectively partner with employees, management, and cross-functional teams to meet performance objectives and support the company’s mission and vision.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required. Previous forklift experience is preferred.
