Summary / Purpose

Follows detailed procedures for removing and installing tooling to different part numbers. Must troubleshoot machines and tooling to produce parts that meet customer specifications.

Assist in the operation of assembly machine to produce parts to customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities :

• Maintain and continuously develop 5s system that addresses safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Set-up and operate assembly and inspection machines to produce parts to customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot machines, tooling, and gauging equipment to fix problems with non-conforming product.
• Make decisions about quality problems using reaction plans.
• Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure tolerances are being held.
• Perform a variety of material handling operations, moving components and bearings using manual and powered industrial trucks.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Must possess very good mechanical / reasoning skills to problem solve. (Assessment Given)
• Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Must be multi-tasked to handle multiple diverse tasks accurately and completely.
• Must be able and willing to obtain internal walk lift / forklift license
• Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.
• Must have demonstrated good initiative in previous job or jobs.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and / or will be subject to being called in at odd hours when needed.

Education and Experience :

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous mechanical experience is required

• Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
• This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat, mechanical machine operation, etc.
• Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
• This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.

Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
