Jubilee Park & Community Center is Hiring a Workforce Associate Near Dallas, TX
OverviewJob Description The mission of Jubilee Park & Community Center (Jubilee) is to be a catalyst for community revitalization and enrichment in the Southeast Dallas/Fair Park neighborhood. The agency provides free multi-generational services to families living in the 62-block neighborhood of Jubilee Park and surrounding areas, a part of Dallas which has long been under-resourced. Founded in 1997, Jubilee has grown into a campus which includes a community center, resource center, Head Start facility, Early Head Start facility, senior housing complex, and a 3 acre park. We’ve also worked closely with residents to identify five key pillars that in form our work and reflect the community's greatest challenges and opportunities. Those pillars are: Safety, Health, Housing/Workforce, Education, and Opportunity. The Workforce Associate is a part-time (20 hours per week) position which will play a critical role in supporting our workforce programming efforts. This individual will be responsible for various tasks designed to further the goals of creating self-sustaining pathways out of poverty, increasing community members’ quality of life and financial stability, and fostering equitable access, leading to a revitalized community. This position offers flexible hours and is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment. This individual will report directly the Housing and Workforce Manager. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach to Jubilee community about adult education and workforce opportunities.
Provide resource referral and connection, helping community members navigate options available to meet expressed needs.
Assist in recruiting for workforce programming, including adult education classes.
Conduct follow up outreach for adult education and other classes, including administering surveys and attendance calls.
Work closely and collaboratively with training, educational, and employer partners with the goal of equitable access for our community to living wage careers.
Build out partnerships and referral connections with training, education, and employer partners.
Provide follow-up to neighbors who attend Jubilee's programs who need workforce assistance.
Work one on one with community members who need light touch assistance such as resume creation or completing online job applications.
Maintain a database of neighbors interested in workforce programming.
Provide regular communication to the community about employment and training opportunities.
Interface with Jubilee community members in a professional fashion and maintain appropriate and professional boundaries.
Ensure quality data collection and entry into Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) in partnership with the Housing & Workforce Manager and the Director of Research, Evaluation and Impact to quantify workforce’s efforts and impact.
Assist the Workforce Manager in administering wrap around support services.
Support Workforce Manager in carrying out workforce related programming at Jubilee.
Participate in training activities and staff meetings, as appropriate.
This role will require work and event attendance that occur outside traditional work hours from time to time.
Other duties as assigned by Housing & Workforce Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or commensurate work experience; additional education, experience, or coursework in social work or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in workforce development is preferred but not required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Jubilee staff across the organization, nonprofit partners, and parents and community leaders among others.
Experience working with diverse populations preferred, and ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others.
Conduct oneself in professional manner and appearance.
Preferred non-profit outreach experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortability in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently.
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Availability to work flexible hours as needed.

Bilingual in Spanish required.
