Project Engineer - Solar
Location: [Bloomington, MN
Our client, a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and testing firm, is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join their Renewable Energy Team. With a primary focus on solar energy development, you'll play a crucial role in managing moderate to complex geotechnical projects. As an employee-owner, you'll contribute to their commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

1. Scopes of Work and Proposals:
   • Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering projects, primarily in the solar energy field.
   • Create geotechnical engineering reports, offering professional opinions and practical solutions.
2. Engineering Analyses:
   • Perform engineering analyses using company and industry standards and methodology.
3. Project Management:
   • Manage routine to complex geotechnical engineering projects, including project scope, schedule, budget, and safety.
   • Work independently on specific assignments with Senior review.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Perform quality reviews of work by assigned staff.
   • Identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues.
5. Coordination and Collaboration:
   • Coordinate field staff, share resources, and manage workloads with regional operations.
   • Ensure specifications are followed by collaborating with Account Leaders, engineers, and project managers.
6. Client Relationships:
   • Work closely with Account Leaders and Senior Engineers to meet or exceed client expectations.
   • Assist in developing business goals and objectives.
   • Support client relationships to achieve wind market sector goals and strategies.
7. Field Testing and Training:
   • Perform various field testing and observations as needed.
   • Assist field operations with technician training and review.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering field.
• Professional Engineer registration/licensure or ability to obtain within two years.
• 5 years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience (preferred but not required).
• Previous experience with large-scale construction projects (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
