JUDiT Inc is looking for 2 Litigation Attorneys for our client, a fast growing, full-service law firm, located in Brooklyn, NY.
About the Firm: Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 120 attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to increase to its talented ranks of Litigation Attorneys by adding a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-4 years to join our Brooklyn Office.
The Successful Candidate:
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic and organizational skills are essential for this position.
- Must have good oral communication skills and ability to communicate and be personable with clients, court staff, adversaries, witnesses; must be true team player genuinely interested in working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
- Candidate should have experience in all phases of litigation including but not limited to drafting litigation documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery demands, taking depositions, conducting research, and appearing in Court.
- Candidate would also ideally have experience in litigations involving Personal Defense or Insurance Defense
- The associate attorney should be able to write and draft papers, handle document discovery in all aspects, prepare discovery demands and responses, notices of all kinds, subpoenas, work up a case, interact with a client and ascertain the documents needed to be obtained (medical records, etc.) and obtain same.
What you will need to have:
- Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in New York | Benefit is also licensed to practice in New Jersey.
- 2-4 years of experience in Litigation.
- Must be detail and deadline oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
- Strong oral and written advocacy skills. A writing sample will be requested prior to any interview.
- Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
