We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to help manage the day-to-day accounting functions across multiple businesses. A successful candidate will have strong accounting skills and mentorship experience to support the needs of the organization and senior leadership team.

Responsibilities include

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, A/R invoicing, and cash receipts application in a timely manner
• Key player during monthly close process. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries and period-end accruals, performing general ledger account reconciliations, and resolving reconciling items
• Assist in preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements for Controller review
• Monitor revenue recognition to be in compliance with ASC 606 and review contracts to ensure testing is followed
• Cooperate with holding company financial and SOX audit processes, including monthly and quarterly controls
• Prepare required documentation for external auditors on a quarterly basis
• Build relationships with various controllers and accounting groups across our parent company to ensure accurate and timely intercompany transactions
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to make sure vendors and clients respectively are paid and paying on a timely basis
• Strengthen and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Assist in documentation and implementation of policies/procedures in order to scale accounting team

• You’re great at checking your work and ensuring that numbers are reasonable 
• You have a strong understanding of financial statements and journal entries, and demonstrate mastery of GAAP
• You’re able to communicate well regardless of the medium, whether it’s in person, on a video call, or via written communications 
• You’re able to manage many moving parts and orchestrate processes to support both financial and operational reporting needs for timely decision making
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (especially using filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
• You’re able to organize, plan and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment, while keeping a keen eye on deadlines

Requirements

• CPA preferred
• Media industry preferred
• Public accounting or startup experience preferred
